Nature Camp 2010

Registration is now open!

Our Facilities

New England Tropical Conservatory Education Center is located at 413 Route 7 South in Bennington. Our bright open space is a wonderful environment for children to learn and explore the world of plants. Our 96 acre nature reserve is a perfect mixture of meadow, wetland and upland forest to teach kids about the varied habitats of the Northeast.

Our Camp

Our summer camps bring education and fun activities together as children explore the wonders of nature. Campers will divide their time between indoor activities and outdoor exploration for an intimate perspective on plants and nature.

Our Camp Staff

Our staff is knowledgeable about plants and biology and has a passion for creating programs for youth. We develop camp activities that are educational and fun. Your child will never be unsupervised. Our camp staff will be certain that your child is in an environment that is safe to explore, play and learn. We will be spending time outdoors and do suggest packing your child some items that will make them more comfortable such as, hat, sunscreen, a change of socks, and bug repellent.

Junior Biologist

Grades 4, 5, 6 (in the fall)

July 5-9, 9:00am-3:00pm

Come with us as we journey through changing habitats and learn how plants adapt to their environment. Get down in the dirt and see what’s lurking and living in the world below our feet. Think like an environmentalist and create your own habitat. Design and plant a rain garden to capture and filter rain water that rolls off the roof. Explore, dig, plant, play and discover.

Green Adventures

Grades 1, 2, 3 (in the fall)

July 19-23, 9:00am-12:00pm

Join us on our adventure through a plant’s life. We’ll learn how trees grow in the forest and cattails live in the wetlands. We’ll race through the meadows on a scavenger hunt, create our own frog pond and make a wreath from wildflowers.

All campers should be dropped off and picked up at the NETC Education Center located directly across the street from the Norman and Selma Greenberg Reserve.   Directions and google maps.

Camp fees include snacks. All Junior Biologists should come with a lunch each day.

Please read our refund policy before registering.
